USING FACTOR ANALYSIS FOR VARIABLE REDUCTION TO QUALIFY PHYSICAL FITNESS OF SOCCER TEAM

Demonstrate the use of technical analysis of factors for summary variables metabolic assessment, body composition and motor skills of a professional soccer team allowed better visualization of the physical qualities of the athlete and athletes in different tactical positions, and team sports. We used to analyze variables VO2 max, anaerobic threshold, agility,% Fat and Lean Body Mass, Impulse horizontal test, 10m and 30m test. The sample was 35 professional athletes with a mean age 22:54 ± 2.9, n = 7 defenders, attackers n = 4, n = 2 goalies, n = 6 sides, socks n = 11, n = 5 flywheels. The result of Bartlett's sphericity test was p <0.001, and the value of the KMO statistic was 0.633, being suitable for abstract factor analysis of variables. Of the eight variables VO2 max, anaerobic threshold, Agility, Fat%, Lean Body Mass, vertical jump, Test and Test 10m 30m were reduced to three factors, they summarize the following aspects: speed and agility factor 1 2 aerobic condition factor, body composition factor 3. The three factors explain 73.76% of the variance of the sample, with a speed and agility 35.92% factor 1, 22.79% factor 2 aerobic fitness and body composition factor 3 15.04%. We conclude that the technique of factor analysis can be used to summary and to better describe the metabolic assessment, body composition and motor skills in sports teams, helping to visually identify the physical condition of athletes in the group and in relation to tactical positions.

The practical application is the exposure of scores in percentile charts that make it easy to visualize the technical team and players about their condition in relation to summarize factors that speed and agility, aerobic condition and body composition.
